Panoramic
Photography-
The key
to new dimensions in photography!
This
is an old yet newly 'found' type of photography. I personally have been
using panoramic cameras for over 15 years. But this is not long if you
research panoramic photo history.
My oldest panoramic cameras were made in the late 1800's. All the panoramic
cameras I use provide their wide sweeping view by using large wide film
rather than fisheye lenses or simply negatives masked to panoramic proportions.
Everything I shoot is on film. Images for the internet are then scanned.
QuickTime VR (virtual reality) images are made directly from 360 degree
film. You will see a QTVR sample in the 'Gallery'. Quick Time VR images
also can be produced by stitching several photos together.
Currently
this medium has found favor the world over and several models are manufactured.
All are priced beyond the average camera and a special knowledge and application
is needed to produce the best results. My gallery prints are produced by
special labs as the negatives will not fit in standard darkroom equipment.
I
find that while a challenge artistically, the end results shows a unique
glimpse of our world. The panoramic images show what our eyes see but yet
have rarely seen as a photographic print.
I
use both rotation and non-rotation types. My non-rotation panoramic cameras
include a simple 6x12 field camera plus a 7x17 inch wooden camera originally
designed for 'Banquet Photography'. Rotation cameras used include Widelux
and other type small rotation cameras (120 degree) plus 360 degree full
rotation cameras.
Thanks
for visiting. Check back every few weeks to see something new!
